That is why we offer 2 types of consultations:
1. Weight Loss Medication Assessment
Our Weight Loss Medication Assessment is designed for individuals exploring whether treatments like Mounjaro or Ozempic could be a safe and effective part of their weight loss journey. This appointment offers a thorough, personalised assessment with an expert GP to help you make an informed decision.
Step 1: Initial Consultation & Assessment
- Review of your health history, medications, and lifestyle
- Physical exam, including blood pressure, BMI, Waist:Height ratio and cardiovascular checks
- Personalised discussion of your goals and explanations what to expect
Step 2: Pretreatment Investigations
You will receive a personalised panel of tests and assessments, which may include:
- Blood tests to check vitamins (B12, D, iron), thyroid, glucose, insulin, liver, and kidney
- Thyroid ultrasound, if relevant based on your medical history
- Pancreatic health screening to watch for rare complications
- ECG or cardiovascular evaluation, depending on risk
Step 3: Personalised Plan
We will discuss your results together, then create a customized plan including:
- Discuss appropriate medication plan (if required)
- Referral to a specialist dietitian (if required)
- Exercise and strength training recommendations (physiotherapists/personal trainers)
Step 4: Follow-Up & Ongoing Monitoring
- Regular check-ins—either in person or virtually—to track progress, review medication and any side effects
- Additional bloodwork, as needed, to catch changes like deficiencies or hormonal shifts
- Monitoring of digestive symptoms, thyroid and pancreatic health
- Plan adjustments, as needed, and referrals to specialists (endocrinology, cardiology, dietetics) when appropriate
This one-hour consultation is available at a fee of £400. Please note that any necessary blood tests will be charged separately.
2. Weight Loss Medication Review Consultation
Our Weight Loss Medication Review Consultation is designed to provide a comprehensive check-up for those already on this medication prescribed elsewhere. We look not only at how well the treatment works but also at potential side effects, nutritional health, and long-term safety.
What we review during your consultation:
- Side effects: Common issues such as nausea, constipation, and fatigue, as well as rare but important risks affecting the pancreas, gallbladder, thyroid, eye symptoms and kidney function.
- Nutritional status: Monitoring for deficiencies in vitamins and minerals, particularly if appetite suppression has altered your diet.
- Metabolic health: Weight trends, blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar control.
- Lifestyle and exercise: Supporting safe, sustainable activity and muscle health.
- Psychological wellbeing: Exploring the emotional aspects of weight change and appetite control.
- Diagnostic imaging such as ultrasound scans
- Referrals to specialists if necessary
- Blood tests tailored to your requirements
This 45-minute consultation is available at a fee of £300. Please note that any necessary blood tests will be charged separately.
